AppleInsider | Two new hires are Apple’s latest moves in mobile advertising

by SteveBayle on February 3, 2010

Apple realizes that a lifetime value of a customer of 99 cents won’t result in creating too many real app development businesses.

So they’ve made it clear that they plan to help developers make money from mobile advertising in addition to downloads fro the App Store.

In terms of Quattro and Lala we acquired Quattro because we wanted to offer a seamless way for developers to make more money on their apps, especially free apps,” Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said during Apple’s quarterly earnings conference call last week

This is great news for those of us who plan to give away our apps for free amd plan longterm relationships with our customers – and that doesn’t mean just issuing new version of the app periodically.
