one college student’s opinion

by SteveBayle on January 21, 2010

Had lunch with a friend and his daughter today. While we spent most of the time talking about other things, I had a chance to ask her about her interest in a mobile social shopping app.

She was excited by the idea, but had two must have features:

1. Price comparison – not necessarily with the web but with other nearby stores, as buying from the Web might not save money what with shipping and handling and certainly takes time.

2. Inventory status checking – very frustrating wanting to buy something at a store and not knowing if it’s in stock or not and having to hunt down a clerk to check the inventory. If it isn’t in stock she’d like to be able to know where else nearby should could buy it.

She said she would have made good use of this tool for her Christmas shopping.
